My name is Pam Sawyers I live at The Crest, here on the lovely Isle of Wight.
I was born and raised on the Island and only left for a short time whilst my two boys were growing up. I have always been lucky enough to live in a countryside environment and to have animals around me. My biggest passion, apart from my Labradors, is rare and old fashioned breeds of chickens which I reared for many years. The joy of painting has now taken over from my chickens.
I have been studying art for a number of years and have spent a lot of my time as Chairman of two Isle of Wight Art Groups, arranging exhibitions throughout the island, helping to promote the work of Island artists. I paint whenever I have a spare minute and have a special interest in animal portraits and also being surrounded by farmland and coastal waters I get plenty of inspiration, with lots of photo opportunities, to paint land and seascapes.
I like to use different mediums – pastels, watercolours, oils, sketching, for my paintings, choosing the best medium to develop a truly inspired painting giving thought to the subject matter and how best to bring out its beauty.
